Good / The Horizon Fitness T101-04’s specs match the price. Theoretically, the Horizon Fitness T101-04 should be good; it just isn’t.
Bad / The Horizon Fitness T101-04 isn’t reliable. Whether the belt needs to be replaced, or the incline fails to work, or the buttons don’t work, it seems like the treadmill just can’t function in totality. Despite serviceable warranties, it seems like the Fitness T101-04 is a real hassle.
Verdict / The Horizon Fitness T101-04 sounds good on paper, but unreliable parts and poor quality control lead to many faulty treadmills. Expect parts and warranty hassles everywhere. I’d recommend checking out this treadmill or the Sole F80 instead.

Horizon Fitness T101-04 Treadmill Review

The Horizon Fitness T101-04 is one of the most popular treadmills on Amazon with a current four-star rating with 259 customer reviews. A lot of people love this treadmill, but a lot also hate it. What kind of deal is this–scam or a good buy? Read the full scoop and our analysis of what we think of the treadmill in this Horizon Fitness T101-04 review.

The Horizon Fitness T101-04 retails for around $649 on Amazon. This is a mid-range price for a treadmill leaning on the cheaper side. It’s much cheaper than Sole treadmills, or even this treadmill we just reviewed.

So what do you get for the bargain price? In this Horizon Fitness T101-04 review we will decide if the low price means that this treadmill is a good deal or a product that doesn’t warrant a good purchase.

Horizon Fitness T101-04 Treadmill Review

Starting out, you’ll see that the Horizon Fitness T101-04 has plenty of information readily available on the Amazon listing page which is a good sign.

The Horizon Fitness T101-04 has 10 MPH limit and a 10% incline. The speed is OK, not the highest we’ve seen around 12 MPH, and the incline is smaller as well (normal for premium treadmills seems to be around 15% incline). For the price, the incline and speed are do-able.

The motor powering the Horizon Fitness T101-04 is 2.25 CHP which is decent for the price, but you’ll notice more power in more expensive models.  Additionally, the Horizon Fitness T101-04 comes with plenty of programs to work out including step-goals, distance-based workouts, interval workouts, and calorie goal workouts.

For extras, the Horizon Fitness T101-04 comes with MP# speakers, pulse grips to measure your heart rate, but no fans. It also doesn’t have cool Bluetooth integrations.

As for the display, the Horizon Fitness T101-04 lacks a bit. It’s a green display with a 5” screen that lets you see your stats. The screen a relatively mediocre and it’s not one of the Horizon Fitness T101-04’s selling points.

Overall, the Horizon Fitness T101-04 has decent specs for the price, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the treadmill will hold up to wear and tear.

Horizon Fitness T101-04 Treadmill Review

It’s good to see that the Horizon Fitness T101-04 has a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, but the parts only have a two-year warranty instead of what we see in more expensive models (usually five years and two years labor) while this model only has one year of labor parts.

While the specs of the Horizon Fitness T101-04 and the warranty looks good on paper, this is another treadmill that has some serious review complaints.

I’ve seen tons of users having issues with this treadmill complaining about poor customer support, and malfunctioning parts. Sure the Horizon Fitness T101-04 has a warranty, but having someone come out to repair the treadmill 3 or 4 times and still not have it work seems like a crazy hassle.

It seems like a majority of users who are using this treadmill have problems with the motor and even if the treadmill appears fixed, it breaks down shortly after. Many users frustrated with the product explain that the warranty claim takes forever and that you can expect the treadmill to need replacing after one year.

Horizon Fitness T101-04 Treadmill Review Conclusion

If the Horizon Fitness T101-04 works, it’s a decent treadmill for the price since it has a decently powerful motor, plenty of workouts, speakers, and a decent incline. However, like a lot of cheap treadmills on Amazon, this one seems to have some major quality control issues and poor customer resolution.

Unless you want to take a gamble on this treadmill and waste $600 or more, I’d recommend getting this model, or checking out something like the Sole F80 which is one of the best treadmills around.
